Egypt
Egypt is a fantastic year around destination offering a great climate. A holiday to Egypt guarantees sunshine with temperatures in their 70’s in the Winter and 90 degrees and above in the Summer months. There are the magical, mystifying tombs of the pharaohs and mighty temples of the Nile Valley - a spellbinding ancient parade that reaches it peak in the sightseeing heaven that is Luxor. Then comes the perfect contrast – the beaches of the Red Sea. Most notably, the idyllic sands and amazing diving on offer at glitzy Sharm El Sheikh, the crystal-clear waters of lively Hurghada, the family-oriented charms of Makadi Bay or even the luxurious seclusion of Taba.
On the shores of the majestic Nile, Luxor is the perfect place to explore the wonders of ancient Egypt. The Temple of Karnak is one of the largest temple complexes still in existence, while the smaller Luxor Temple is home to many impressive monuments. On the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings is dotted with tombs of Pharaohs, including that of Tutankhamen, while close by is the Valley of the Queens, Temple of Hatshepsut and the massive Colossi of Memnon. The area around Luxor is also awash with historical interest, while the town itself is a quiet resort, with a good range of local shops and dining options, and fine selection of hotels.
Discover the wonders of the Nile, encompassing 5000 years of history, from the comfort of a 4* or 5* cruise boat. We feature several choices of Nile Cruises, all offered on a full board basis (includes all meals; drinks not included). In the company of an expert Egyptologist, explore the fascinating sights of Luxor and Aswan and many of Egypt's key historical sites, including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Luxor Temple.
Sharm el Sheikh lies at the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula, and is Egypt's biggest and most popular Red Sea resort. With a range of hotels to suit every taste and budget, an exciting variety of activities in the water and on land, and some of the region's best nightlife, holidays in Sharm el Sheikh can be as peaceful or as active as you choose. Naama Bay is Sharm el Sheikh's main resort, with hotels and dive centres overlooking sandy, gently shelving beaches. An array of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants are on and behind the main promenade. There's a variety of shopping options from the old souk in downtown Sharm to the gold and silver sellers located in the modern shopping mall in the heart of Naama Bay. If you want to be at the centre of the action, Naama Bay is the place to stay. Sharks Bay is popular for diving and snorkeling and the Nabq Bay area is quieter and great for family holidays situated on the edge of the National Park. South of Naama Bay, Ras Um Sid is close to Sharm el Sheikh's old souk and also to Ras Mohamed National Park, with its stunning coral formations and abundance of underwater life. Ras Um Sid is set on a rocky headland with spectacular views of the Red Sea and reefs.
Originally a small fishing village, Hurghada has become one of the foremost resorts on the Red Sea and has developed into an area that is a haven for holidaymakers and divers alike. Those who choose holidays in Hurghada enjoy the resort's great mix of hotels, shops, restaurants and nightlife plus some fine dive sites and easy access to the rest of the southern Red Sea. Hurghada has no real centre, being a large, spread-out resort - but the harbour area of Sekkala offers a good range of facilities, while other locations are ideal for peace and relaxation. For divers, the Hurghada area offers a variety of off-shore dive sites offering challenges for the more experienced diver, including a multitude of reefs, walls and wrecks, and about 10 islands, which can be visited on day trips from Hurghada, where sharks, giant eels and manta rays can be found in deeper waters. For those wishing to stay on dry land, an exciting choice of excursions are available, including day trips to Luxor and Cairo plus the opportunity to journey through the desert on a jeep, camel or quad bike safari.
Marsa Alam is one of the best undiscovered, up and coming resorts of The Red Sea, offering a tranquil atmosphere and unspoilt natural environment, holidays in Marsa Alam are perfect for rest and relaxation, and we offer a range of hotels where you can do just that. Located approximately four hours south of Hurghada, Marsa Alam enjoys the same great year-round climate and is almost tropical in appearance, with palm trees, coral reefs and beaches of near-white, silky sand. The area is especially popular with divers, attracted by the pristine reefs and variety of marine life.
Taba is one of the most picturesque parts of The Red Sea with main attractions being the beach and watersports on offer. Taba also has a new 18 hole championship golf course.
Cairo is Egypt’s capital and is a great destination for a busy holiday with many ancient landmarks including The Sphynx and The Pyramids, plenty of good hotels, restaurants and shopping.
